Annai Sagunthala

Annai Sagunthala was born in the year of 1952 in Muthukrishnapuram in Kadayanallur situated in TamilNadu to Thiru Hariharan and Chellamal as their third child. Annai Sagunthala completed her college from Parasakthi college for women in 1972 majoring in chemistry. Further Annai went on to complete her homeopathy medicine and practices and continues to serve the needy abiding by the Jeeva Karunya principle. Compassion and Love towards all the souls is Jeeva Karunya.

Since the days of conception, Annai had decided to take the path of spirituality and sainthood as directed by the Almighty. Once Annai and her father had gone to seek the blessings of Kanchi Shree Parmartha Swamigal in a place called Kalavai. Swamigal on looking at Annai blessed her that Lord Parameshwaran himself will be her Guru & God and guide her. Swamigal also asked no one to interfere in Annai’s decision. Annai’s father respected Annai’s thoughts which was the ultimate intention of the almighty and this is the reason for Annai’s honour, respect and purity.

Spirituality is not about losing everything rather the experience of understanding everything. In accordance to the above quote, Annai lives a life filled with the experiences of the divine almighty and observing the blissfulness through each and every cell of her body.

There were three people who were instrumental in supporting Annai in her quest for spirituality. The first, being Manickavasagar, the sacred poet who wrote Thiruvasagam. Second being Thayumanavar and the third being Vadaloor, Arutprakasa vallalar who attained divinization of the physical body. Further Ramakrishna Paramhamsar, Vivekananadar and Shirdi Sai baba have also been instrumental in Annai’s search for divinity and spirituality.

Annai was fascinated and interested in devotional literature since her childhood. The Almighty himself guided Annai in understanding the hymns of Thiruvasagam, Thiruarutpa, songs by Thayumanavar, Thirumandhiram, Thevaram and Kandar Alangaram. Annai apart from understanding the divine essence of these books, strives every day ( through speeches and satsangams) to make sure that the message from the above texts reaches every nook and corner of the world.

Annai’s spiritual experiences and thoughts have been brought out as a book, thanks to the works of Lahiri Mahasaya’s autobiography and Paramahamsa Yoganandar’s “ An Autobiography of a Yogi”. These books were a great motivation and this resulted in the birth of amma’s book titled “ Arputhamana Athisaya Anubhavam”. Apart from this there have been 10 more treasured books penned by Annai.

In a world filled with worldly attachments, Annai’s spiritual books and Satsangams will always serve as a guiding light towards understanding the diviness of the Almighty.
